By combining a trip to the zoo with a ferry ride, we got to see both the harbour brige and the opera house from the water, which was nice. It was another beautiful, if cool day, and everything was glistening and glowing.

Taronga Zoo is on a hill, and involves a cable car ride up to the top. It took virtually all day to walk through the zoo. The animals all had nice big cages, except for the condors, who could have done with a bit more space and it was a well-thought-out place. There wasn't a logical path through it, though, so we had to do a lot of doubling back. We saw the big cats and Mikey showed me the snow leopards, but said that was as close as I was going to get to having one. I know he doesn't mean that. Really.

We made it all the way down to the ferry by the time the sun was setting. Back at the harbour we managed to sneak on to the last tour of the opera house which was very interesting. By the end of it, we'd decided to see what was on (that we'd be able to watch. There was a lot of 'contemporary' stuff going on, plays without words, dance without music, that sort of thing) and we managed to get the last two tickets for the Mikado tomorrow, which fitted in nicely with our plans.

On the way back from the opera house we stopped by the cinema and found that a film I wanted to see was on in an hour, which was just enough time for supper first. 'Touching the Void' was a horrible and slightly funny documentary about a mountain-climbing accident. Not going to see that one again, it made my legs ache.
