With no alarm clock Mikey was still snoring on the other side of the room at 11. I didn't really feel like getting up either, and we ended up having breakfast at midday. I had a bit of a disagreement with a milk carton - I though my mother told me not to drink from them cos it's rude, but it turns out that it's because sometimes the milk cartons decide to shower you in a pint of milk all by themselves. And it's rude. So I won't be doing that again.
A complete change of clothes and another shower later, we were ready to wander into town. We passed a building advertising Uncle Bob's Child Development Centre, which is probably where children get taught rude nursery rhymes and ruder jokes. We found a hire car to take us to Adeleide: it was cheaper than two bus tickets and this way we can go along the Great Ocean Road and stop where we want to. Then we took the tram into town, saw a few more pretty buildings, walked through Chinatown and felt hungry so we halted in a pretty park to have a very late lunch. We stopped at the cinema on the way back, managed to talk ourselves into some sort of discount, and watched I, Robot, a nondescript bit of science fiction nonsence that passed the time. Will Smith runs.
The tram took us almost all the way to the hostel door and I decided to repack my bag. It's so full that half of it doesn't fit, and I can hardly lift it. Mikey took up the challenge and by some bizarre combination of man-logic and sheer luck, he managed to put everything I own into my rucksack with about a quarter of the space to spare and made it liftable. He did suggest that I leave some of the pretty rocks out if I was going to carry it any distance, but at least I can pick it up now.
I read some silly rubbish that I picked up in a hostel book exchange, and slept really well.
