We chose a hostel at random in Hamilton and it turned out to be a bit weird. It was full of older New Zealanders wearing wellies. Just a bit freaky. We found out after a while that they were in town for a nearby farming show that started the following day which was better than the ideas we had about what was going on. Considerably less scary too. We slept and left the next morning. As Forest Gump would say: "And that's all I have to say about that."
