The moon, slightly coloured by the approach of sunrise.
I have dozens of photos of the sun rising over Angkor Wat and I think that this one has to be my favourite.
Being very early still that same morning, the sun had not risen very high before we were looking at another temple, this time Preah Khan. The "god light" that you can see shining through the trees was even more impressive in real life but my camera did quite well I think.
The bits of Preah Khan that lay beyond that "god light".
Many of the temples we saw had views like this, dozens of doorways all lined up. It wasn't often though that we had a chance to see them without someone standing in the way.
This sort of scene was also typical throughout Angkor. As well built as they were, the temples have all suffered from the passage of time. This was the temple of Ta Som.
Also at Ta Som, my favourite tree-on-temple picture.
I had to stick us in somewhere and 9am on top of the temple of East Mebon seemed like a good time and place to take a photo.
This is Preah Rup.
The passage of time makes the walls wobbly too. This one was in Banteay Kdei, near the end of our second day.
