This is the scary ladder that we climbed up.
The north gate sits about half way along the north wall.
From it you can see all the way to the bell tower... almost. It's a bit hazy.
The north gate also lets you get a clearer view of the wall itself.

I had expected to see more bicycles in China than we have. Most people seem to use buses and trains but every now and then you find a long row of bicycles chained up somewhere.
Shanghai has several elevated roads running through it. This is the mess that seems to happen when two of them meet.
We took a short cut / detour when trying to find our bus one day and found row upon row of these wonderful old houses.
